Stacey is celebrating 26 years in the field of accessibility in January 2026. She got her start working for the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) as a plan reviewer shortly after receiving her BS in Interior Design. Having worked for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for seven years, she gained extensive knowledge of statutory, administrative and technical requirements of both state and federal accessibility compliance while training and educating constituents throughout the state.
Stacey formed her accessibility consulting business in central Texas in 2007, El Buey primarily focuses on Texas Architectural Barriers Act compliance services. In 2016, she received her MS in Construction Management from Louisiana State University and spent a year teaching in the Interior Design department at Texas State University. Licensed as a Registered Accessibility Specialist and Registered Interior Designer in Texas, Stacey holds the APA/ADA Specialist designation from the Accessibility Professionals Assn. (APA) and is the immediate Past President of the Texas Chapter Board. Currently the Vice President for the LSU Austin Alumni Board of Directors, Stacey is also the Immediate President of the Women’s Symphony League of Austin. She and her husband Joel have two sons, Emmett (19) and Fox (17). In her spare time, Stacey loves researching genealogy for family and friends and going to music concerts of all genres.
