APAC Academy (Day 1) Sessions

This course provides best practice guidance for incorporating accessibility design and construction into projects through discussions of common construction document mistakes, field and dimensional tolerances, and key concepts including Structural Impracticability, Technical Infeasibility, Disproportionality, and Unreasonable Hardship. Participants will learn to resolve conflicting accessibility requirements, specify critical dimensions and tolerances in construction documents, and navigate situations where full compliance is not possible.

This course gives an overview of how both federal and state level funding affects the accessibility requirements for affordable housing.
